Sane As Hell
I charge no-one for protection.
I see no gold in the shrapnel of war.
I don’t accumulate wealth and power,
By creating more and more poor.
I don’t poison water for profit,
Or the sky, or the food people eat.
I don’t judge by your colour or the creeds you profess,
And my choices aren’t driven by greed.
I don’t lie to advance my agenda
Don’t use force to see my will done.
I don’t say one thing while doing another.
Yet, in some eyes, I’m the mad one.
Because I gave up trying to keep up,
And discovered my very own stride.
I gave up on the needing to please thing,
And named the price for my own hide.
So, if peace and care are not madness,
If I’m not crazy to ignore all the schills
If common respect means I’m straight in my spirit,
Sign me up, because I’m sane as hell.
